A. Remlov (a.k.a. M. A. DuVernet) has been writing books and screenplays for thirty years. Her book “Pushkin’s Ode to Liberty: The Life and Love of Alexander Pushkin” was first published in 2014. It started as a screenplay that was sent to a Hollywood producer, who returned the script stating that it would make a great novel. After much more research and visiting Russia, the novel was published in 2019. This new version of the novel, release set for the summer of 2024, is a rebranding project to incorporate the literary critics comments regarding the first release. “I love writing projects that intrigue me and where the characters have many layers to reveal and obstacles to overcome. The research on Pushkin alone took me over twenty years, it was truly a labor of love.” Please read the reviews below.
A. Remlov is also the writer of a young adult (YA) novel called “Bones of Skull Island” a work of fiction about eleven-year-old Hunter Burrows and his father, Mitch, an amateur archeologist who find a jawbone of a 700,000-year-old Hobbit that takes them on a journey across the Baja peninsula to solve the mystery of Surly Max. It is 108-page book that is easy to read for new readers and fun for adults and children to read together.

Reviewers rave on Pushkin’s Ode to Liberty:
EXCERPT from the book:
“The mumblings that were once a well-orchestrated convergence of words and phrases with a rhythm spoken from the heart were now just an eruption of blurts, grunts, and moans pouring out that cursed the ready paper, which lately had turned from a necessity to an expense.”
“…Pushkin and those who are close to him are given an internal (and external) voice which assumes some liberties were taken, but the author seems to truly understand the motivations of everyone to grace the pages, lending to a writing that comes across as both enjoyable and historically accurate. The thoroughly researched writing lends a believable voice to people who have long since lost theirs. This book is a lovingly penned biographical tribute and a revealing glimpse into the mind of a literary genius.“

Reviewers rave on Bones of Skull Island:
EXCERPT from the book:
“The prophecy of Surly Max is an ancient legend, one that goes back seven hundred thousand years.”
“The author’s book is written in magical realism and contains things like talking animals and trees. The reader is pulled into the plot through its fast action and the mystery of the curse. The narrative takes one on a fantastical journey throughout the Baja Peninsula. As the group follows the jawbone of Surly Max, there are plenty of intriguing events that capture the imagination. The book is well-written and action-packed, with a plot that brings readers face to face with a talking tree and owl, a seaweed covered ghost of Pete the Pirate, and the last Makki, known as Big Foot. There is plenty here to have readers quickly turning the pages as the characters journey into the wilderness of the Baja Peninsula. This adventure is suitable for young adult readers and adults who enjoy works filled with unexpected magical events.“
